Logbook Guidelines

Find out how to take part in the Logbook.

1. Create a Logbook account

Signup for a Logbook account to share details about maintenance and repair activities carried out by your household or via third party repairers on home appliances and electronics.

2. Submit item details

Submit a few details about your item including item type, manufacturer name and date purchased. You can record multiple items. You have the option to upload an item photo to your Logbook and share it via the website's Gadget Gallery and Gadget Map.

3. Submit maintenance and repair details

Submit details about item maintenance and repair activities carried out by your household and/or third party repairers. You can record multiple maintenance and repair activities. You have the option to upload photos of your maintenance and repair activities and any equipment used and share it via the website's Gadget Gallery and Gadget Map.

Photography Guidelines

You can help us to better understand what's involved in maintaining and repairing home appliances and electronics by sharing the following photos with us in your Logbook account.

Taking a picture of your item

  • Make sure your item is central and clearly visible in your image
  • Make sure the item is in focus in your image
  • Ensure you do not capture any personally identifiable information in any of your photos (i.e. faces, names, addresses)

Taking a picture of your maintenance or repair activity

  • Make sure the area of your maintenance or repair activity is central and clearly visible in your image
  • Make sure the area is in focus in your image
  • Ensure you do not capture any personally identifiable information in any of your photos (i.e. faces, names, addresses)

Taking a picture of your maintenance and repair tools, equipment or parts

  • Arrange any tools, equipment or parts used side by side on a flat surface
  • Make sure tools are in focus in your image
  • Ensure you do not capture any personally identifiable information in any of your photos (i.e. faces, names, addresses)
